After much consideration and deliberation, Chicago rock band Algren has decided to call it quits. The split is completely amicable and we remain close friends but the time has come to go our separate ways. We had a great run and will take a load of wonderful memories with us. We appreciate the support, friendship, and love you have given over the years and would like you to celebrate with us once more.

Algren will play a farewell show on Friday, November 20 at Elbo Room, our favorite and most frequented venue. We will be performing w/ our good friends 72 Hours.

Chicago-based rock band Algren is announcing the April 2009 release of their first full-length album, "A Wayward Sound Floods the Streets", as well as the release of an accompanying graphic novel that further explores the themes of their music. The album and book will be packaged and sold together at their shows and various independent music and book retailers around the Chicago area.

Algren's album release show is tentatively scheduled at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago, IL on Saturday, April 4, 2009.

Chicago Noise Machine officially kicks off this Friday, November 14 at the Cubby Bear when 9 of the best Chicago rock bands will unite to change the local scene forever! Algren will join A Birdsong Valentine, Bullet Called Life, Echo Son, Heavy the Fall, Lucid Ground, Reverie, 72 Hours, and Simplistic Urge for an incredible concert at the Cubby Bear in Wrigleyville (1059 W. Addison).

As the headline states, only two days left until the Chicago Noise Machine debut at the Cubby Bear in Chicago, IL on Friday, November 14th. Algren will join with 8 other local bands to bring you the best in independant rock and roll entertainment in Chicago! The show starts at 7pm, so come on out!!

Algren is pleased to join 8 other local rock bands to form Chicago Noise Machine, a partnership of musicians that will collaborate on a series of concerts and compilation albums over the next year.
