New Tunes :)

When we all meet again to play music together..I will have a new arsenal to throw at all of you. I'm very proud of the new tunes....hope you all will be too. Lets do it.
"How do you feel about the state of music today?"
I do enjoy some of the new music that comes out on radio...but I feel its the Indie artists that have got it going on. Seriously, like why in the world should movie stars have the right to put out an album by a mojor record company. Those companies only have a few slots to give away each year to new artists to sign. When someone like Lindsay Lohan get an album...it makes all the people who actually " make music" sit back and go..." what the fu#$?" Geez.
"Where is your favorite performance venue?"
HOnestly, still my favorite place to perform is right in front of my puppy Winston ( the pug). For example, when I write a new tune...he'll just lay there and listen...he'll never throw something at me and say that sucked...or hey dude...you missed every friggin note on that chorus and last verse. He'll just lay there till on his pillow till I finish playing..and then snort.
"What differences do you see between live and recorded music?"
Well I will tell you this. Auto-tune is a major let down of the new age of music these days. I'll use Dave Matthews as an example. His shows...are even better than his recorded stuff. Each and every year..the band..especially himself..get better and better. Playing live is where its all at. A studio album is just publicity to let people know what is in your new repetoire when you play live. If your live show sucks...I dont think your recorded stuff will be much better. Or if it is...its because you've wasted too much time in the studio..and not playing out.
"Are you signed to a label? If not, would you sign to a label?"
I have had interest from a view indie labels...and even aware records for a while. Nothing as of yet...maybe I just need to write " that song" that puts me over the edge. Sort of like that last drink of the evening. You know...so the buzz keeps flowing.
"What artists have had the biggest impact on your music?"
I really think it's safe to say that Dave Matthews has had the most impact. But if you listen closely, especially to the new tunes I've been writing lately, there has been major influences of Gavin Degraw, Tonic, Stroke 9, Ryan Adams, and even a little Night Ranger. Gooo 80's.
